AC Repair & HVAC Service in Houston, TX — Clear Lake City & the NASA Area

AC Repair & Heating Service for Houston's Clear Lake Area

If your home is in Clear Lake City, near the Space Center, or anywhere in the NASA area of Southeast Houston, you have a Houston address — but you're really part of the close-knit Clear Lake community. This area was annexed into the City of Houston in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so the 77058, 77059, and 77062 zip codes are officially Houston even as they've kept their own identity. Mabry's Air Conditioning & Heating has been serving these neighborhoods since 1986, and we know this corner of Houston as well as anyone.

We're not a massive Houston call center. We're a family-owned company with real technicians who know these Clear Lake neighborhoods — and we charge flat-rate pricing with no hidden fees.

We Know Houston's Clear Lake Neighborhoods

This part of Houston grew up around NASA's Johnson Space Center. Much of the Clear Lake City housing in the 77058, 77059, and 77062 zip codes was built during the aerospace boom of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s — solid, well-built homes, but many still running HVAC equipment and ductwork from an earlier era. Original single-stage systems, return air undersized for today's high-efficiency equipment, and in some cases AC units still using R-22 refrigerant (phased out in 2020 and now costly to recharge) are all things we service regularly in these neighborhoods.

Being this close to Galveston Bay adds to it — year-round humidity and salt-influenced air that's harder on outdoor equipment than it is inland. These are established, tree-lined, close-knit neighborhoods full of engineers, aerospace families, and long-term residents who value a contractor they can trust and a price they can count on before the work begins.

Recent Work in Houston's Clear Lake Area

Not every breakdown means you need a new system — and we'll tell you so honestly. In fact, we repair the vast majority of the units we're called out on. We recently helped a Clear Lake family whose AC suddenly stopped cooling; our technicians traced it to a ruptured, leaking evaporator coil. Rather than push a full replacement, we assessed the age and condition of the rest of their system, determined it was well worth keeping, and replaced just the coil — getting them cool again fast and saving them thousands. One local note worth sharing: this family, like most folks out here, calls the area Clear Lake — but their mailing address is officially Houston. Same neighborhood, two names, and we're proud to serve it under both.
